Safeguarding is a term that covers many things - all concerned with making sure our participants feel safe, protected from harm and enjoy wellbeing.
An important part of our role is to build resilience in our participants both now and in the future so that they are able to deal with situations in life that put their wellbeing at risk.
You can be assured that our colleagues have been trained to recognise and respond to safeguarding issues. We understand that talking to someone about a concern might not always be easy and we do our very best to make sure that our participants have the support that they need. We have specialist colleagues to support participants with safeguarding issues, but we also adhere to the view that safeguarding is everyone's responsibility, and we work very hard to ensure that we have an effective safeguarding culture. We work very closely with a range of external agencies to support our participants, particularly our more vulnerable participants, and we provide high levels of support to all our participants.
We are committed to the Government's PREVENT strategy and underpin all our programmes with British Values. Colleagues are trained in awareness of the dangers of radicalisation and extremism, the signs to look for and who to go to for support.
Colleagues are carefully recruited, trained and Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checked.
Our safeguarding policy and procedures are reviewed annually in order to reflect new legislation and amendments to current legislation.
